It’s been a long time since I actively participated in actively dating. To whom is may concern: I find it curious that within an hour of creating an account, I get a ‘wink’ from female ‘member’ (PerfectSail) 920 miles away. Upon examining her profile, she’s only searching for members within 50 miles of Austin, TX. Then, I’m alerted that another ‘member’ (Victoria7Jsa) is interested in my profile, yet the link generates error messages as it doesn’t seems to EXIST on your system. And again – within the first 24 hours of signing up – another female (movementgod) 470 miles away expresses interest in a dry and generic email that doesn’t incorporate anything from the the extensive details on my profile. Do you know why? Because NONE of the three users show as even having VIEWED my profile. I find it suspicious and curious that women A THOUSAND MILES APART would be sending me requests of interest without having clicked on my account. Can you even EXPLAIN how to send a message or a wink to another user without even VIEWING their profile?! Is this Match.com’s way of enticing new members to stay as paying customers? By coercing them into thinking there are users ‘interested’ in them?! (If you’re going to plant programming algorithms designed to misrepresent, you may want to be more thorough.) Or perhaps this is some felonious method Match.com employs to steer the ’6 month guarantee’ in the corporation’s favor. By sending me attempted ‘contacts’ from known fictitious accounts, you can claim I didn’t meet my obligation and am not entitled to compensation. I am taking this seriously and am discouraged as a new user by the tactics you seem to retain. In the mean time, I request an explanation and that you ‘turn off’ the fake notifications to my account. In addition, I have examined section 18 (Disclaimers) of your Terms of Use which states that “Match.com is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate Content posted on the Website or in connection with the Service, whether caused by users of the Website, Members OR BY ANY OF THE EQUIPMENT OR PROGRAMMING ASSOCIATED WITH OR UTILIZED IN THIS SERVICE.” I assume Match.com is confident that the latter part of that statement covers you legally. I, in fact, do not. This appears to be clearly deceptive and strategic actions on your part. Furnishing my account with false pretenses is NOT why I contracted with you. Internet searches show scores of reports of fake emails and lawsuits because of what I described above. Therefore, I will expect an immediate refund of my $107 that I seem to have been cheated out of. I am also frustrated that I spend a great deal of time creating a legitimate profile with extensive details – time that I will not be compensated for. I am extremely disappointed in your organization and will let others know. William A. Franklin
